"Street Fighter X Tekken"

Officially announced just today. Capcom and Namco coming together to make a tag team, 2-on-2, Street Fighter vs. Tekken game. Street Fighter vs. Tekken will use the Street Fighter 4 engine, bringing in Tekken characters. At some point there will also be a Tekken vs. Street Fighter which will run on the Tekken (6?) engine, importing Street Fighter characters. Street Fighter is definitely my main fighting game, but I was into Tekken back in the day, so I'm excited. EDIT: Correction, Capcom and Namco WON"T be working together. They'll be working solo on each project. Capcom will be developing the Namco characters in their game and vise versa. They'll be competing against each other to see which one wins in sales and gameplay. Also, neither is due for another 2 years.

There is so much meta going on with these two projects, it's hilarious. Not only are the characters competing against each other in the games, so are the sales. I was kind of looking forward to a company VS. title (or two in this case) instead of two fighting games. Namco makes Soul Calibur as well, and to have included that would have been pretty slick. Plus, I would have loved to pair Mega Man and KOS-MOS together for robotic annihilation.
