Shit got jacked yo

Postby lorddane » Thu Jun 24, 2010 7:49 pm

so yeah, on may 5th someone broke into my car while I was eating in a restaurant and the assholes stole my two instruments. My clarinet and Bass Clarinet are worth (collectively) about $17,000. Two months later there are still no leads and insurance is still sitting around with their thumbs in their asses. I have made it very clear to the insurance company that EVERY DAY I am without instruments is another day I can not earn a paycheck. but here I am...2 months...no replacements. The claims adjuster has the testicles to suggest I get a cheaper instrument...no. Those instruments cost as much as they do because they are the industry standards and professional grade materials.

I have 600 left to pay off on the credit card (only ever bought gas and car repair on it) and 130 left in checking. I'm .01 GPA points from getting $1500 in a scholarship for my last 2 semesters in college...

shit is hitting the fan for me...

*breathe* that's much better...ok comment or ignore to your heart's content :) */breathe*

I can't relate to loosing expensive things like instruments, but I do understand their value. Is there any reason it would take this long on a claim besides bureaucratic nonsense? I hope things start turning around for you and me both. I can't seem to turn the damn fan off this week.

I meant the shit hitting the fan. If that's happening in a car, then I would be concerned about the activities your car was involved in!

Man, that sucks. I love insurance companies penchant for making our lives harder when something bad has already happened.
We sued this car insurance company once because their client hit us and even though it was blatantly her fault and my mom and I were injured (I had to be taken to the hospital in an ambulance) and it got dragged out into a huge lawsuit that lasted 3 years because the settlement they offered didn't even cover our medical bills and the cost of our van that got totaled. They're stingy bastards.

While I'm not a musician and have been fortunate enough to not have anything important stolen, as an artist I can vouch for why we need high dollar stuff for what we do. I can certainly understand their value.

Now, I must contemplate what activity a car would be in that would involve shit hitting its fan. Hmmm . . .

Actually, I solved my own case. I got one of my instruments back, the other is out of my reach for the moment, but it will be mine again soon enough. The force will guide it back to my hands and it will once again be mine.

Hopefully, there will be a movie adaption of this story because of how emotional and action-packed it was.
